Dear Friends and Colleagues: It is with sincere enthusiasm that I inform you that the 1st Annual Gala Latina, was by all measures, a resounding success. Perhaps you have already surmised this if you had the opportunity to attend this fundraising event whose mission is to provide scholarships to Hispanic youth for higher education. Approximately $15,000 was raised and scholarships were awarded to bright, deserving students in our community. I am truly grateful to our sponsors and the organizing committee for this accomplishment! The 2nd Annual Gala Latina, promises to be even better. The black-tie affair will be held Saturday, March 29th, 2008, at The Hyatt in Sarasota. Participants will again celebrate Latino heritages while empowering, our youth to make their dreams of higher education a reality.
